IT Helpdesk

The IT Helpdesk is a small team of Scouters, who will help resolve issues and support setup of Microsoft M365 services. They also maintain the County’s web site. Use the contact link at the bottom of this page, to contact the IT Helpdesk team.

Using the central email address for all IT related issues and questions provides the best chance of someone picking up the issue. If you email people directly, they may not be available for some reason and may not respond.
Like everyone in Scouting, the Helpdesk team is made up of volunteers. Once you have sent your request someone will contact you as quickly as they can.
When reporting problems, please provide as much information as is possible. We will need:

  • a description of the issue
  • details about the device that has the issue (make and model)
  • as they say, a picture tells a thousand words, so a screen image showing the issue is always helpful

    Here are some examples of what this team can help with:

  • Setup of M365 email accounts
  • Update content on the Derbyshire County web site
  • Help resolve technical issues around the use of M365 tools (Word/Excel/Forms, etc.)
  • Escalate issues to third party companies (e.g. Microsoft)

    While you can use many different software solutions, the team may not be experienced in all the tools available. Below is a list of tools that we recommend using:
